The majority of Japanese sourced natural water is ‘soft water’ due to the continental geological strata consiting of grantie and basalt layers. The granite layer beneath Mt. Fuji is one of the world’s rarest in size, extending about 300 metres. This phenomenon occurs from accumulation by rain and snow falling on Mt. Fuji, that permeates and filters the basalt layer over many years.
